Auto Insurance

In Oregon, if you’re in a Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA), your medical expenses, including massage, chiropractic, and acupuncture, are covered up to $15,000 or more through PIP (Personal Injury Protection) insurance, regardless of fault or whether you were a pedestrian or cyclist.

Worker’s Compensation

If you’re injured at work, certain workers’ compensation plans may cover massage therapy and/or acupuncture. Consult your treating medical doctor for a prescription for manual therapy as part of your treatment plan. Inform the claims adjuster about the prescription to ensure coverage.

Health Insurance

Health insurance often covers massage therapy and/or acupuncture, but coverage varies. Some plans require a doctor’s referral, while others allow visits without one. Coverage can range from full payment to requiring a co-payment.
